In the past it was possible to have more than one GPS unit in a panel but all of them were restricted to displaying the same active route. Today, you can have a Reality XP 430 and a Reality XP 530 all displaying different routes at the same time. The aircraft position data is always current even although different routings maybe displayed on each unit.

With the Professional Expansion Pack, the Flight Line 430XP/530XP allows you to run dual GNS’s be it two of the same type or a combination of 430 and 530 gauges if you have acquired both products. Most importantly, these are independent GNS displays. Although your aircraft position will be the same you can be running unique flight plans on both!

Real world procedures with GPS Cross-fill!

The GNS 430 and 530 provide the capability to cross-fill the active flight plans to the second Garmin unit, or cross filling stored flight plans and User waypoints. This can be done automatically or on command. It also means that when flying beyond a navigation database boundary a hot switch can be performed in flight changing from the Americas to International or vice-versa as required and this provide seamless flying anywhere in the world!

In all cases, it permits you to transfer flight plans from any Reality XP GNS model to any other Reality XP GNS model using the same Crossfill procedure that is in the real units.

This provides greater flexibility for your flying because now you can be following the active route and have one or more scenarios set-up to accommodate anticipated direct routings, diversions and approaches. When required a non-navigating unit with the updated flight plan can be activated and become the primary navigation unit. This allows you as the pilot to actively plan the flight as conditions change and this can be done in a timely manner to minimize tasks during high workload conditions.

The Flight Line 430XP/530XP Professional offers an enhanced Gns Config Professional adding additional capabilities to edit and tailor you GNS features and to load Checklists for the aircraft, as well as supporting the extended settings tailored specifically to the most demanding user.
